Workshops with participation of the HIV/AIDS and TB working groups to develop a project proposal for the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Grants for 2018-2021

The Republic of Armenia in line with a number of other countries is in the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria programs transition preparedness period. Starting from 2016 a line of activities was conducted to ensure the proper implementation of the highlighted process. Specifically, “Transition Preparedness Assessment” working group was established by the order of TA Minister of Health. Besides, a local consultant was selected and the joint work resulted in development of the Transition Preparedness Assessment Report on the Global Fund Programs to Fight against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Republic of Armenia” report. The later should be followed by the “Transition Plan”. Considering the fact that there are still activities to be held towards the finalization of the report submitted to the Global Fund, the Republic of Armenia HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Country Coordinating Mechanism (hereinafter: CCM) applied to the Global Fund with a request to engage “Curatio” international fund into the activities. As a result, Ivdity Chikovani, an expert from “Curatio” international fund, arrived in Armenia on November 27-29, 2017. CCM Secretariat held workshops with participation of the HIV/AIDS and TB working groups to develop a project proposal for the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Grants for 2018-2021, as well as relevant beneficiaries during the three days. The workshops were highly loaded and aimed to update the existing information, as well as to gain additional information on the corresponding working groups’ members, state, specialized organizations, civil sector and all the other beneficiaries. Summarizing the upper mentioned and considering the fact, that the transition process consists of a line of phases and the phase will be followed by the development of “Transition plan”, the cooperation with Curatio international fund will be regular till the finalization of the process and the documents of the state importance.
